Overview
Our new intelligent Stop/Start system helps improve economy by up to 9% (49.6 MPG) on the extra urban cycle and reduces CO2 by up to 7.7% (179 g/km) compared to the previous model. Freelander 2 is the world's first SUV to feature this technology and it is standard on all diesel manual models. The vehicle automatically shuts down the engine in appropriate conditions, resulting in zero tailpipe emissions and saving fuel that would otherwise be used idling the engine when stationary. When the driver is ready to move off, the engine instantly re-starts.
